A
certain someone asked me today when I was gonna blog again. Truthfully? I haven't thought too much about it lately. I still read for the most part, but rarely comment. I don't know, I guess I've just gotten so much out of the habit that it's hard to start again. But, just to pacify Steve, I'll do a "quickie". Again, that's for Steve.
So, last time I blogged, I had met someone knew and we were dating. And...we still are. Except, now he's actually considered the boyfriend. And...he's still awesome. The more I learn about him, the more I like him.
He's met most of my close friends and they all really like him. That? Is a good thing. A very good thing. He also got the pleasure of meeting my parents a couple of weeks ago and, although we were at a crawfish boil and there were lots of people there, they were able to get to know him a little bit. And? Like him.
This past weekend he took me to meet his parents. I was stupid nervous. I don't get nervous too often, but I really was. I had no need to be. They loved me!!! I mean, how could you not, right? I also get along great with his brother and sister and both of his roommates. So, all in all, things with us? They are good. Real good.
Summer is almost here, so I'm looking forward to spending more time with him since Kaylie will be spending more time with her dad and Alyssa already spends every other week with hers.
Speaking of Alyssa's dad, I am this close to finally being divorced!!! I am hoping that by the end of June it will be final. Hoping!! And then I am gonna have myself a divorce party!!!!!!!
I don't have too much else going on in my life right now. Kaylie is finishing up 2nd grade and, this Friday, Haley graduates from Kindergarten. Which makes me so sad. Those babies are growing up. Thankfully, Alyssa has a couple more years before she starts school.
Well, maybe I will post more often. Maybe not. I don't know. I can't promise anything. But, I am reading...

Who let the dogs out?
I didn't realize how long it had been since I last posted! I've decided to curtail my story for the time being (look at me using big words!) to concentrate on more upbeat things. I don't want to give you all the impression that I am sitting around wallowing in my own self pity. That's far from the truth.
So, let's see. You'd like to hear a story about my Thanksgiving, no? Ok, you've twisted my arm.
At Thanksgiving each year, my dad's side of the family have a big get together. I'm talking like 30-40 people. We go down to my great-aunt's house in Mizzippi (I'm not stupid, that's how we say it down here). My cousin has a big place on her land. Basically, just a big building with a pool table, flat screen tvs, tables, a kitchen and a bathroom. Perfect for Thanksgiving. It's a potluck as well, so no one has to do all the cooking.
Anyway, we eat, talk, blah blah blah. Now, my aunt has quite a few acres of land. Next to her land, the neighbors have horses and bulls. Bulls with horns. Long horns. Yeah. My cousin brought her dog with her. Her dog that she had gotten just a few days before from some friends that couldn't care for her. A Siberian Husky. Beautiful, friendly and active dog. You see where this is going, don't you?
After a while the dog ends up going down to the fence that separates us from the bulls. It's a good 130+ yards away. She's sniffing and just checking things out. Then, we couldn't see her for a minute. Then she pops back up. And, then, we realize she has gotten into the neighbors pasture. With the bulls. And the horses. And she's sneaking up to the bulls. My mom and brother and Kaylie were riding around on the golf cart and saw her and tried to get her to come back under the fence. Nope, she was about to have some fun.
So, us being rednecks, several of us drive down or walk down to the fence to watch. This damn dog was running and jumping at the bulls, who were, in turn, trying their best to knock the shit out of her. Then she notices the horses. And, of course, must check them out too. Of course, the horses pay much less attention to her. Basically, just trying to bite her. Then, one horse happened to move his tail. Aww hell, she thinks this is something to grab! She jumps a couple of times to grab the tail and finally the horse has had enough and tries to kick her.
We watched all of this for a good 30 minutes and then my cousin got through the fence and finally got her dog.
Thanksgiving in Mizzippi. Good times.

A little late
Ok, I don't have the internet at home so I could not post a birthday post to my baby girl on her birthday and I've been pretty busy while at work. But, finally, I am doing it.
Alyssa's 1st birthday was on Sunday, January 7th. Let's go back to one year ago.
Early morning December 31st (around 5ish I think) I woke up having contractions. You were not due until the end of January so I was shocked and kinda scared. We were really not ready. Although, I had a feeling that you were not planning to wait until the end of January to meet us so Daddy and I had done our best to get things ready early. I woke up your Daddy and off to the hospital we go and, yep, I'm in labor. 35 and 1/2 weeks was too soon they said. They gave me some shots in my arm to stop the labor and we spent our New Year's Eve night in the hospital. Luckily the shots worked and we went home the next day.
Fast forward to 3 days later. Once again, early morning and I am in labor again. Back to the hospital we go. They stop the labor again and we go home and go to see my OB that afternoon. I had not dialated from the labor but I was still contracting all the time. He decided to go ahead and induce me on Friday, January 6th.
Daddy and I got up that morning, we took Kaylie to school and head to the doctor's office and promptly got sent to the hospital where the induction began. After 18, yes 18, hours of labor there were some problems. The nurse came in and put an oxygen mask on me because your heart rate was just a little low. Ok, I can handle that. Dr. Stack (love him) came in and checked and I was still only 3 cm dialated. It was looking like a c-section but we wanted to wait a little longer and see. Just a few minutes later, the nurse comes in and rolls me on my right side, then on my left and then more nurses come in and they tell me that you had to come out NOW. Your heart rate was around 60 bpm and should have been more than twice that. I have never been so scared in my life.
Within minutes I am being wheeled into the OR for an emergency c-section. Your Daddy couldn't even come with me because they had to put me under general anethesia. That scared me even more. The next thing I know I wake up back in my room and your Daddy is standing next to the bed holding you in his arms. You were perfect.
It seems like yesterday. I thank God and the wonderful doctors and nurses that you came through everything just fine. I love you baby girl.
Happy 1st Birthday Alyssa!
A little late, but better than nothing!
******Edited to add other pics of Alyssa. I wanted everyone to see just how much she demolished that cake. She LOVED it.******

Happy New Year
I hope that everyone had a good New Years. Mine was quiet, I had my babies and stayed home with them. They did stay up until around 11 or so and had a good time playing. I would do like everyone else and go into what I want for 2007, but I'm not going to.
I'm sure I have lots of resolutions for myself, my family, my career, etc, but do I really want to put them all into words and put them on this blog? Not really. There are some things that I do not feel like sharing and this is one of them.
That being said, I do hope for good things in the next year. My 2006 started out wonderful and ended pretty crappy. It can only get better, right?
I'm a little sad at the moment because, my little baby will be turning one year old on Sunday. I'm so excited that she has reached this milestone, but I wish that I could turn back time, or, at least slow it down some. Before I know it she will be walking and talking and turn into a toddler that doesn't want to cuddle or want my help to do things anymore.
Oh well, I guess that's just what they do.

The Obligatory Thankful Post
This Thanksgiving I'm not in such a thankful mood, as I'm sure you've all guessed. But I do realize that although things right now are not good for me, I do have many things that I am thankful that I do have.
1. I'm thankful for all of my friends. Each and every one of them. Each in different ways, but all equally. Especially, Crystal, because she's always been there for me and I know that, no matter what, she always will. So, thanks Crystal. And, go on over and see her and give that girl some tips about bloggin!
2. I'm very thankful for my beautiful daughters. I love them more than words can say and wouldn't trade being there mom for anything in the world. I can't wait to see the wonderful people they grow up to be and all the things they will discover along the way. I just hope it's all happy things, of course.
3. I'm thankful that I had 2 years with Chris. I still love him very much and he did give my Alyssa and for that I will always be thankful. I was hoping for a lifetime with him, but, at least I had a short period of time. I'm a different person than I was before I met him and I'm glad for that.
4. I'm thankful for my family. Without my parents, I don't know where I would be right now. They have helped me out more than than I would have ever expected them to and I love them very, very much. I only wish that I could pay them back for all they've done for me. One day I will.
5. I'm thankful that I am healthy and that I have a roof over my head, clothes on my back and food in my kitchen. I am thankful that my kids have the same thing.
6. I am thankful for my soon to be ex-in-laws. I love them very much and will miss them like crazy. They were, and still are, loving, caring wonderful people and I only wish that I could still be a part of that family too.
7. I am thankful that I work for someone that appreciates the work that I do and also understands when I have to leave early or come in late or stay home altogther because I have kids. I'm thankful that he understands my current situation and realizes that on somedays, I might not be having a good day.
8. There are so many other things that I am thankful for, but I cannot list them all here because you would get bored and surely move on. But, just know, there are many others.
I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.
